We're 22 miles southeast of central Brentwood, about 33 to 38 minutes down Byron Highway. In 2025, 339 Brentwood pet owners brought a cat or dog here for spay or neuter.
People drive down Highway 4 for two reasons: price and scope. Owner Mike Wesselink hears dental quotes of $1,500 to $3,000 reported back from general practices in our service area.
"I live in Concord. Every veterinarian near me quoted me between $1,000 and $3,000 for the teeth cleaning. The Pet Advocate took x-rays, did the cleaning and two molar extractions."
Take Brentwood Boulevard south to Highway 4. Follow Byron Highway (County Route J4) south through Byron. Stay on J4 as it becomes Byron-Bethany Road, then Byron Road. At Corral Hollow Road, head into Tracy. We're at 1973 N. Tracy Blvd., on the north side of town.
Most of the route is two-lane country highway. Plan for 35 minutes in light traffic, plus 10 to 15 more during morning commute.

Cat neuter starts at $105 and cat spay at $130. Dog neuter starts at $170 and dog spay at $200, priced by weight up to 79 pounds. A $20 deposit holds your appointment. Reschedule free up to 72 hours before.
$600 includes everything: pre-anesthetic bloodwork, anesthesia, oral exam, ultrasonic scaling, polishing, charting, full-mouth X-rays, and fluoride. We send pre and post photos plus copies of relevant X-rays. Extractions are billed separately.
Walk in any weekday for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, FVRCP, or other core vaccines. We don't carry the rattlesnake or Lyme vaccines due to efficacy questions and low Lyme prevalence in our area.
Walk-in hours: Monday–Friday, 12–3 PM. Call (209) 879-9367 with questions before you drive.
Microchipping (registered through 24PetWatch at no extra cost), flea and tick treatment, deworming, and anal gland expression.
Walk-in hours: Monday–Friday, 12–3 PM.

"My local vet quoted me over $1,500 for the same services. Everyone patiently answered my questions and took such loving care of my fur baby."

We do four things: spay and neuter, dental cleanings, walk-in vaccinations, and walk-in wellness. We don't run an emergency hospital. We don't handle internal medicine, oncology, behavioral cases, or chronic-condition treatment plans.
